The ResqRanch offers a different approach. We integrate rescued animals into herds, providing 24/7 positive reinforcement (R+) training opportunities within a natural setting. This continuous, choice-based training, a hallmark of our program (for graduates of DrQ’s Horse Relationship Building Masterclass), allows us to address complex behaviors like polite crowd behavior, farrier work, and even trailer loading without restraint. The ResqRanch utilizes positive reinforcement training to help rescued animals overcome trauma and learn to trust again. R+ training is a method that focuses on rewarding desired behaviors, which makes training more enjoyable for the animal and helps to build a stronger bond between the animal and the trainer. With every interaction, the animals have a choice.

At the ResqRanch, animals are integrated into a herd to live a more natural life, and their training and care are ongoing 24 hours a day within their natural setting using only positive reinforcement (R+). The ResqRanch recognizes that with every interaction with the animals, they are training. All animal handlers at the ResqRanch receive the same training. The ResqRanch is not just about animals, it's also about people, helping them heal and grow in a safe, welcoming space.

Your donations directly support the rescued animals by providing food, shelter, veterinary, farrier, and dental care, as well as training and enrichment. Donations also support future expansion for more animals and community programs.
