Dr. Jena Questen

👋 Hey animal lovers! Thanks for watching! 😊 In this video, we spend some time with our beloved donkey and horses, showcasing life at the farm. You'll see our cute animals enjoying the snow around the barn, reminding us of the joy they bring. Supporting our rescue animals helps us continue to provide loving care, so check out these animal videos!

Thank you for being here today. For waking up. For caring about animals. I am grateful for you!

I am also grateful for the snow. For the barn we have even if we don't have stalls for each of the animals, yet. I am grateful for our hay. For water. For our wood shavings for the donkey and the others to rest in. I am grateful each one of them, and honored I get to care for their well being and happiness.

If you are wondering about why we put blankets on some horses, and not others, you might want to check this out, my video explaining all about it https://youtu.be/ki59ziJpKaw

We usually put a blanket on Oliver, because he is underweight because of his urinary issues and how much extra energy he expends to urinate, which you can see in the live video I did last night. Poor guy. We really want to get a Shock Wave as we think it's the best shot he has at getting relief. That is our next fundraising goal.

So, in weather like this, not much training going on, not without an indoor arena which will get built some day soon. Just lot's of extra work to ensure the senior ladies are cozy and clean in their stalls, and with plenty of hay and water to keep them busy while the storm passes through. Checking blankets on the others, if they have them on. Blaze's blanket was frozen solid and handing off to one side because a strap come undone overnight, and had to be dealt with. And just making sure everyone is getting along, and is comfortable, not too wet or cold or shivering, in these more difficult weather conditions. So far, so good. It is MUCH easier to take good care of everyone now than it was the first few years we lived here. Also grateful for that!

What about you, Animal Loving Angel? What are you grateful for today on this beautiful Wednesday? I hope you had some fun yesterday for Cinco de Mayo, and that you are looking forward to a great day. Should be an interesting one here with this snow and weather. But I am so glad we are getting so much needed moisture.

Have you remembered to give yourself a high five in the mirror? Or have you tried just walking around barefoot and getting grounded with the earth? I sure hope so, don't forget, as you are out in the world trying to take care of everyone else, to take a moment, to care for yourself. Take three deep breaths. Take some vitamins. Drink some extra water. You matter, and the world needs you or you would not have woken up today.

So get out there and make this a day you never forget! Stay safe out there everyone!
