Dr. Jena Questen
We check in on Emblaze, our thoroughbred, who is making a great recovery from her recent hoof injury after immediate animal care. It's truly rewarding to see her progress, especially with the Preakness in mind, as we also acknowledge Oliver whose father was a racing legend. Our dedicated horse care and veterinarian expertise ensure all our rescues thrive.
Today, I am grateful Emblaze is walking better!
Today is the day of the Preakness, the second leg of the triple crown. And the race that Oliver's Twist, the father of one of our rescue horses, OliverClothesOff, ran second. An amazing achievement! I just hope, all of the horses who run today, make it safely to the end of the race, and their jockeys, and that all the horses have good homes once their racing career is finished.
I am grateful that I woke up today so I can continue to care for these animals, my patients, my children and my mother. And my rooster. And my dogs. And cats. And fish. I am grateful I can walk barefoot on the earth whenever I want to. I am grateful I have a roof over my head, running water, and fresh air to breath. I am grateful I have you to read my posts, and care about the horses. I am grateful for my life, and this beautiful day that was not guaranteed to me, but given to me on this day as a gift.
What about you, Animal Loving Angel? What are you grateful for today? I hope that it is that you woke up today. That you have lotion for your dry hands. That you can stand on two feet. That you are grateful you can appreciate animals and all the love they give us. And that you have love for yourself. That you have looked at yourself in the mirror lately, and that you gave yourself a high five, and that you smiled at YOU! Why? Because you deserve it! Everyone is going through something. So no matter what, the better job we can do keeping our spirits high, and dedicating all of our waking moments to making ourselves a little better, each and every day, that will get us closer to our dream life. No matter what that looks like for you.
