Dr. Jena Questen
👋 Hey animal lovers! Thanks for watching! 😊 This animal video captures a morning check-in with our horses, including Blazey, who is still recovering from a hoof injury. Despite her limp, Blazey is eager to leave her stall and join her friends, Oliver and Chili, for some farm life outdoors. It's heartwarming to see these cute animals interact and support each other.
Thank you for all the prayers and concern you have all expressed for her. She is not 100% out of the woods yet, but, she seems to be doing ok. I will continue to keep you posted to make sure she makes a full recovery.
Yesterday was such a busy day around here. Besides soaking Emblaze's hoof three separate times throughout the day. There was making sure she had enough water, she was drinking an entire bucket about every 4 hours. And of course the poop scooping. And then she was getting annoyed by the fillies so we moved her to the back stall because she was rearing in the stall. Scary!
Finally, it was hot enough yesterday for the first time, that we brought the big fans out of storage and set them up because even though it's only mid May, it was hot here yesterday.
We also did a training session, we took Donkey and Cesar for a walk to do more Rodeo Parade prep. Donkey is really getting in to it, is the first to show up at the gate wanting to go. Cesar also shows up and begs to go, but then, sulks around reluctantly with an angry look on his face the whole time. He is such an emotionally complicated horse. Poor guy. His round up out of the wild must have been a truly terrible, terrifying experience for him. He really does seem to have PTSD and struggles all the time between wanting to be with and do things for us, but then struggling to be angry about it, all at the same time.
We also hosted visitors. We had Pandora and John Erlandson who run a local very successful real estate company, come by to bring us a check for $1040 in donations that they collected at their own Kentucky Derby party. That was so kind and generous of them.
We had other visitors as well, who wanted to come and see what it is we do here, and considered volunteering. And we were supposed to have a group of disabled folks come and visit with the horses, but that got rescheduled for another time.
Wow, I feel like it's all happening! Finally! People are getting to know who I am, what we do here, and why it's so special. This makes my heart glad.
I am so grateful that Emblaze is doing better, I am grateful to Pandora and John for the donation, I am grateful for the others who took the time to come out and see what we do and spend some time here, I am grateful I woke up today and get to work on growing this some more, and I am grateful for my family, and my children, and my team, clients, and supporters. Blessed indeed.
What about you, Animal Loving Angel? What are you looking forward to today? It is Friday after all, #TGIF, hooray! Guess what I did yesterday? I walked barefoot outside! I finally did it! Not sure how much it grounded me, and the rocks sure hurt on my bare feet. But that's Colorado for you, not much flat, or free of rocks, that is for sure! Still worth it though. There is much energetically happening on the planet right now, if you follow space weather at all. So with all that extra energy, it is good to stay grounded. And yes, that means being kind to yourself. Look at yourself in the mirror, smile, and give yourself a high five or thumbs up. It will make you feel a little silly, a little out of your comfort zone perhaps. But it will do you a world of good and help elevate your internal vibration just a little bit higher, and get you closer to the perfect life you wish for and deserve.
