Dr. Jena Questen
👋 Hey animal lovers! Thanks for watching! 😊 This morning, while giving treats and admiring the sunrise, we noticed a significant swelling of the left front leg of Emblaze. This video documents the immediate horse care taken, highlighting the injury and the need for prompt attention from our vet (me). Ensuring good horse health is always our top priority, and we'll show you how we manage this leg swelling.
I am pretty worried about Blazey today and bummed I have to go to work and can't keep a close eye on her all day. But, she, being an ex racehorse, knows the drill about life in a stall, so I think she will be just fine and enjoy the pampering until we can get back and check on her tonight. I didn't see anything in the corral she could have gotten hurt on, so I think she must have just stepped wrong and twisted it being playful and running around. She is the one that likes to rear up a lot. Please say a little prayer for Blaze today and she will recover quickly and without any long lasting concerns. She has already had more than her fair share of medical issues. If you like science and veterinary videos, and don't mind some blood, here is a video of her you might like from a few years back where she had another issue, poor girl! https://youtu.be/n1VdDBF9OAk?si=mFN6Q2apyBPXwr1y
Today I am grateful I woke up and got to see the sunrise and hear the spring birds chirping. I am grateful I got to go to the LOL Barbie DJ party at the Wild Game last night with my daughter and had fun and made new friends. I am grateful I feel well rested for work today despite going out on a weeknight. I am grateful my dogs and cats and fish are doing well this morning (and most of the horses). I am grateful we are going to have a great day at work today, with excellent patient outcomes and many happy clients. I am grateful my team is all going to show up on time today and be the best version of themselves. I am grateful for my kids, their level of responsibility, and how kind and considerate they both are. I am very lucky and grateful indeed.
What about you, Animal Loving Angel? Did you have a great Tuesday and are you looking forward to having an even better Wednesday? You have the power to make it so. I still keep forgetting to walk barefoot outside (although I know I should) have you done it yet lately? Or given yourself that high five in the mirror? That’s right, never again leave a bathroom, or, look in the rearview mirror of the car, without catching a glimpse of your beautiful self and giving yourself a little wink and let you know just how good you are doing! If you woke up today, that means the world has a purpose for your life, you matter, and you deserve to be here, awake, and have the life of your dreams. If it’s not here just yet, make it so, by having so much fun and relentlessly pursuing your passions and what fuels you. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Your life is yours to live as you see fit. And the best way you can honor the miracle of life you have been given, is to have so much fun in everything you do, you make other people shake their head (and inwardly smile).
