Dr. Jena Questen
Maybe should have listened to the lyrics before posting this song choice😬🤣Oops too late! Getting today's video was brutal, not going to have more than one take when it's below freezing outside and my fingers are going numb.
Not just that, but I was out there longer than usual because Dixie finally seems to be struggling a bit in this cold without a blanket. Instead of going to join the others to eat like most mornings, she followed me around while I took this video.
I told her, no knowing how she would respond because sometimes she can still be a little skittish, that if she followed me back to the barn I would get her some grain. Well, she followed me right back into the barn, so I gave her some grain. I used this R+ opportunity to try to put a blanket on her. I laid my hand on her neck and she was ever so slightly shivering but otherwise seemed ok and eager to eat grain. So I proceeded with the blanket and she took off. I let her leave the room, but not the barn area. She soon came back and ate grain again. I once more moved towards her with a blanket (after this time opening a corral gate so she could leave for good if she wanted). She again took off and this time right out into the corral. But then she stopped and looked at me, and stared back towards the grain. I moved once more towards her with the blanket, and she wheeled and trotted off full extension back to join the hard and share in breakfast. Just that movement along I knew would warm her up, and that she would be alright, especially with the sun promising to shine through with a little warmth in a few more minutes.
Today I am grateful I got to have that cool moment with Dixie. I am grateful the sunrise was actually pretty for the first in a while with lot's of bright color. I am grateful I got to notice the sunrise was coming up a full half an hour earlier than last time I noticed. I guess I am not paying as close of attention as I thought. I am grateful finally (duh!), that we should open the Tack Shack today for people in the community who need horse blankets horse blankets for free. If that is you, email us for an appointment time between noon and 1 pm today at Resqranch.org. I am grateful for my staff and for learning about the Schumann Resonance this week. And I am grateful I finished collecting all of my continuing education credits and lecture hours all in once place. I have
been invited to be a speaker at not only the All American Koi Show, but also to a big conference in Toronto in May, so I needed an up to date list.
How did you feel when you went to sleep last night, about how you felt the day went? Were you extra kind to yourself yesterday so you went to sleep with a smile on your face? I sure hope so, and If not, well, forgive yourself for yesterday, because luckily, we got today, right? So no matter what crisis you may have happening in your life this morning, take a moment to enjoy the sunrise, and find a moment to be kind to yourself in the midst of whatever is going on. Oh, and Go Broncos! Have a wonderful day everyone!
