Come join us for a transformative journey with our dedicated team and discover why protecting our equine partners is essential for their future and our own well-being. Our interactive Rescue Horse Experience offers a fun and educational opportunity to connect with these incredible animals in a way few ever get to see. We guarantee an up-close introduction to the resilience and spirit of the rescue horse, from wild mustangs to former performance athletes. We welcome school groups, scout troops, animal lovers, corporate teams, and any other community organization you may belong to.
Please be aware that the histories of our horses are often illustrative of harsh realities. We do not sugarcoat the truths about the industries and circumstances that lead horses to need rescue. While we will always respect our visitors by presenting this information with care and sensitivity, we ask that you consider if you and your group are ready to learn about the slaughter pipeline, Bureau of Land Management roundups, the racing industry, and other situations where these majestic animals are discarded or neglected. Our focus is on education, positive reinforcement, and providing a compassionate second chance.

Start With the ResqRanch Tour
This guided walking tour is the perfect introduction to the ResqRanch mission. You will explore our facility and view our rescue horses and other sanctuary animals in their habitats, learning about their history, herd dynamics, and the unique Positive Reinforcement (R+) training we use to rehabilitate them. We discuss the current issues facing horses today, from the racing industry to wild mustang roundups, and so much more.
Please note that this tour is conducted entirely in protected contact, meaning guests remain safely on the pathways and interact with the animals over fences or barriers to ensure safety for everyone. Every tour ends with a treat-feeding opportunity where you can offer carrots or apples to the herd.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in!

The VIP EXPERIENCE is a fully immersive, 1-HOUR hands-on session designed for those seeking a profound connection with our rescue animals. After a mandatory 15 minute safety briefing on equine body language, you will work side-by-side with our R+ trained professionals to engage with the horses using Positive Reinforcement. The 45 minute hands-on session begins in "Protected Contact," but for those who establish a deep bond, the experience may evolve into "Free Contact," where the animal chooses to interact with you without barriers. This is a rare, life-changing opportunity!
Your interaction will be entirely tailored to the animal's choice, ranging from grooming and target training to navigating agility obstacles with cones and mats. For experienced riders, if a horse explicitly consents through our R+ methods, you may even have the unique privilege of riding bareback and bitless in an "at liberty" setting, though this is always up to the horse and the trainer, and it is quite rare. Every VIP guest receives a commemorative ResqRanch T-shirt to remember the experience.

Truly Connect with the Animal Contact Experience
Experience the Restorative Power of Connecting with Animals. No Riding. Lots of Cuddling.
Looking for a moment of calm in a busy world? Our Animal Contact Experience is designed for those who seek the quiet, grounding presence of a horse without the pressure of a formal lesson or a clinical environment.
At the ResqRanch, we believe that when you rescue a horse, they often rescue you right back. This experience is focused entirely on the restorative power of animal contact. You will spend quality time with our rescued residents, from majestic former racehorses to soulful wild mustangs, guided safely by our expert horse trainers.
What to Expect:
Mindful Contact: Learn how to approach and connect with a horse using our signature positive reinforcement (+R) methods.
Hands-on Grooming: Experience the tactile peace of grooming, an activity that lowers stress for both the horse and the human.
Presence & Peace: Simply exist in the presence of these 1,000-pound healers, feeling their breath and energy in a safe, guided setting.
A Mutual Rescue: Your visit directly supports the care and sanctuary of the very animals you are connecting with.

Know Before You Go
Treats: You are welcome to bring your own treats (only apples and carrots please) for the animals. We also have treats available for purchase on-site.
Attire: Appropriate footwear (closed-toe) and helmets (provided) are required at all times during the experience.
Safety: You will be accompanied by R+ trained professionals at all times to ensure the safety of both you and the animals.
The Animals: Which animals you work with is entirely at the discretion of the trainers, and the animals themselves!
What Happens After You Enroll?
You will land on a confirmation page and receive a few emails including a receipt, access to the ResqRanch community, access to DrQ's Horse Training Masterclass, and details on your ResqRanch Horse Experience reservation.
Check your inbox immediately for a "Schedule Your Visit" email. Because we keep our groups small to ensure the safety and comfort of our horses, all dates are first-come, first-served. Our experiences are held every Thursday and Sunday at 2:00 PM. Please reserve your specific date as soon as you receive that email!
